Child safety during the summer season!

The summer season is here, and it’s time for fun-filled adventures under the sun. As you plan exciting activities for your children, we’ve gathered some valuable tips to help you ensure your child’s safety during the summer months!

Our tips for increased safety for your child

Sun protection is key. Protecting your child’s skin from harmful UV rays is crucial. Apply sunscreen with and SPF 30 or higher before going outdoors. Make sure to reapply every two hours. It’s a good idea for your child to wear a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses and lightweight, loose-fitting clothing that covers their arms and legs. Avoid the sun during the peak hours!

Keep your child hydrated to prevent heat-related illness. Encourage them to drink water frequently. If they don’t enjoy water, treat them with a stilldrink! Pack a reusable bottle whenever you head out. It is vise to teach your child to recognize signs of dehydration, such as fatigue, dizziness or dry lips. Offer refreshing fruits and vegetables with high water content, such as watermelon and cucumbers.

Whenever it’s a trip to the pool, beach or water park, always prioritize water safety! Ensure your child is supervised by a responsible adult when swimming or playing near water. Teach them to swim at an early age, and if do not know how to swim make always use inflatable protection and appropriate flotation devices.

When enjoying outdoor activities, be mindful of potential hazards. Inspect playgrounds for any broken equipment or sharp edges before letting your child play. Yeah your child to stay away from unfamiliar plants, and educate them about the dangers of wandering into unfamiliar areas.

If you’re planning a road trip or spending time outdoors near roads ensure your child understands the importance of road safety. It’s a good idea to always hold hands when crossing a road and of course look both ways before crossing. Important to be aware of only crossing the street in designated areas. Remind them to wear a helmet while being, skating or using a scooter.

Summertime often involves barbecues and campfires. Teach your child about fire safety, emphasizing the importance of keeping a safe distance from open flames. Explain the dangers of playing with matches or lighters and ensure they understand the ”Stop, Drop and Roll” technique in case their clothes catch fire.

The last good advice is to use a personal GPS Tracker for your child, this to make sure you know their whereabouts during the summer. MiniFinders safety alarms include, among other things, smart alarm functions and the ability to follow positions in real time. In addition, they can be worn around the wrist, in a necklace around the neck or simply placed in the backpack. This increases security for the child outdoors without adult company, for example when enjoying the summer with friends. Should something unexpected happen, you will receive an alarm directly to your mobile phone and you can also follow the child's exact position during the entire time.
